What's up with Geno? Just in case you didn't know, “Geno” is Malkin's nickname in Pittsburgh. Well, Geno continued putting points on the scoreboard and helped the Pens secure a place in the playoffs. Malkin is still dominating the league scoring title with 112 points, but Ovechkin is only 4 points behind with 1 game to play. The gap is not as wide as it was, and that can explain by Malkin not scoring as many points this past month. Sykora, who plays on Malkin, has been having a cold streak these past weeks, which seem to have affected Malkin's play. Evgeni missed a penalty shot and got caught by a big hit against Florida this past week; so it definitely was not Malkin best phase this season. Regardless, Malkin is still very likely to win the scoring title and the Art Ross trophy and still has a good shot for the Hart trophy. The Pens have secured their playoff spot, but we still don't know who they will face. With one game to play, it could be the Devils, Carolina or the Flyers.
